Jayne Combs

Background
Combs has an extensive background in mortgage lending. She began her career in 1984 working in the loan servicing department of a large bank. She spent several years servicing loans until she was promoted to loan processor, eventually becoming a DE Underwriter. After much consideration, she chose to become a loan officer after seeing a tremendous need for people who understand the mortgage process from beginning to end, able to walk their clients through what is usually the largest investment they'll ever make.

On what she finds rewarding:
"It's a people business and I love building long-lasting relationships with my clients. I also love helping people achieve their goals and/or dreams by providing financing on a new home or refinancing their existing loan to free up cash or to pay off their loan faster."

On what impresses her most about First Cal:
"I am impressed by all of the tools that First Cal has available for their loan officers and the teamwork and support that is available from all departments."

On First Cal's capabilities:
"First Cal’s resources allow me to provide video presentations and training to clients and potential referral sources, including Realtors. First Cal enables me to take a loan app literally anywhere! They provide a streamlined method of submitting files without the chance of paperwork being misplaced or lost."

On helping her clients succeed:
"There is no greater feeling than sitting down with a client and advising them of the steps they need to take to get their first home. When they follow the plan we are able to fulfill their dreams."

On what inspires her:
"My clients inspire me every day. There have been times when I could have easily thrown in the towel, especially in today's market. But when I see the smile on clients' faces after our hard work, and the thank you's I get when their loan closes, it reminds me why I do what I do."

On her priorities:
"Of course, my top priority is my faith in God and my family. There is no question there. But in business it is to provide great service and resources for clients and Realtors. To be honest, even when the news may not be so good I do not ever want to mislead anyone."

On how she spends her free time:
"I just recently retired as a boys U-19 soccer coach after 15 years of volunteering. I also enjoy traveling, wine tasting, and trying out new restaurants. I am also a huge animal lover, especially dogs."
