Specialty
Scott Nicholson serves clients throughout the Western United States and specializes in covering the basics with first time home buyers as well as working with investors on complex transactions.

Background
Scott started as a loan officer ten years ago. He then moved into his own branch where he managed and produced. Scott has a strong background in public speaking and coaching at events. A former golf pro, Scott has been both a player and a teacher.

On working at First Cal
“Meeting with the corporate staff and seeing their high level of experience, professionalism, joy and support for one another was the clincher for me. They also arm their employees with the best chance to succeed and thrive in this industry. That’s important. Most companies have the basic training and then tell you to print some business cards and go.”

On who has inspired him
“No question, Tom Bass. He taught me so many lessons in life and business. I’m so thankful we met, he brought me under his wing and I learned the business the correct way. I have learned to be a servant; work smart, work hard and the rest will fall into place.”

On his greatest challenge
“Keeping track of all of the Federal regulations that affect us and the consumer. I think they have taken it to a whole new level, but again it’s my job to help coach and educate. So it allows me another chance to do so.”

On what he finds most rewarding
“No question, I’m where God intended me to be. I am a servant at heart and a problem solver by nature. Those two gifts allow me to succeed and enjoy every day in my profession.”

On helping customers be successful
“Most of my customers have been through the process before. I want their experience with me to be the best they have ever had in a mortgage transaction.”

On how he relaxes
“I love spending time with my wife and girls, but when I get time to myself I enjoy golfing, fishing and Charger football.”
